Legislating a salary cap of $250,000 for the sector is not good for Canada's social enterprises and taints them with an air of distrust. Successful initiatives required for curing diseases, providing excellence in healthcare, the arts, the environment and higher education require the best and brightest, often well compensated individuals, as leaders.
